I’m not going out of my way to make these blog entries picture perfect. It’s a recipe for never getting anything done.
The temptation is to treat everything I post online like it needs to be perfect. Perfect grammar, perfect spelling, perfect punctuation, etc. I am a writer, after all.
The problem is, I’m not willing to spend too much time proofreading these smaller blog entries. I’m definitely not willing to feed them to a AI like ChatGPT or Apple’s Writing Tools to make sure they’re correct, only to sacrifice my voice.
There are other blog entries to write. There are novels to write. Work to be done, video games to play, friends to have dinner with, time to spend with my wife, etc.
What I’m working on determines how much time and effort I’m going to devote to working out the kinks. Not all blog posts are created equal. A novel gets maximum effort, of course. Even that, however, reaches a point where it’s just good enough and it’s time to put it out in the world.
