Start Writing Now

In another blog post, Outlines are My Friend, I wrote about the most transformative piece of writing advice I had received to date.

What I didn’t say is that because I didn’t have this knowledge earlier, I’m going to have to do massive rewrite work on my first novel.

Should I have waited?

Absolutely not.

Write now, learn as you go. There will never be some magical point where you’ve learned everything you need to know. It was good to be writing something, even if it’s going to need rework.
